Why is the screen half the size on BBC1 and looks stupid but a full screen on Eurosport ?

Anyone know why ?

They don't have wide-screen in portugal!

Basicaly BBC1 are using Portugese basic tv stations tv coverage relayed and they don't have the technology to film in widescreen, Gay but true. Eurosport are using their own coverage and hence can film in widescreen.

Anyways I am sure that is what I read in the papers

Either put up with black borders or short fat footballers in simulated wide screen mode.

Portugal are not a third world country can they not afford modern technology !!!!

OK 2004 - far to much sun today
