Enormous great BUZZY things

Right now there are at least 2 fat black flies the size of Messerschmidts dive-bombing my head and shattering the peace and tranquillity with their incessant BUZZING.

Is it the time of year or should I check that there's not something long forgotten food item behind the sofa?

More importantly, what's your prferred method of eradication?

Swat's the problem ? Get one of those ultra violet lights that attrack the flies to a powerful electric current. They have mosquitos the size of Dehaveland Mosquitos in Georgia and I used to love the reassuring crack as one of the bastards flew into it and got incinerated.

Can of spray combined with cigarette lighter. Dangerous, but worth it.

Other things - it depends whether there are other members of the family around. Bees are always let out. Spiders end up the Dyson. Daddy-Long-Legs get caught by the cat.

On swatting - you need a proper swatter rather than a rolled up newspaper. They are amazingly effective.

I tried it on my hand and it actually packs a fair punch, hurt like hell for a few seconds so if you imagine a small fly then it totally kills them so much so they make a popping sound when you hit them and glow nicely. Hours of endless entertainment.
