I'm concerned about Moeen throwing the bat about like that, it's not a 20/20 for goodness sake.

No comparison - we had one bad half in six against a team that hasn't lost at home for 5 years. We did very well on that tour.

Anyone get the feeling that Plunkett was a reluctant nightwatchman?

The first two games we were mostly excellent. The first half on Saturday was one of the worst i've ever seen but it was against the best team of the last 20 odd years

1.05pm Hello again, five minutes to go in the lunch break but plenty of rain has fallen so we're not going to restart until 1,30pm with the tea break shifted back to 4pm.

I hope this doesn't rob England of a chance to win this game. :nono:

It's all kicking off out there... umpires stepping in to prevent a major fracas between Angelo Mathews and Joe Root!

Root gets hit on the head by Eranga bouncer... and now both umpires are having a chat with Mathews in the middle of the pitch...

meanwhile England are 91-5 in the 50th over.

and Eranga hits Root again, duck into a bouncer, of his shoulder for 4 leg byes... and Eranga gives him a bit of 'rattle' after that one too.

Gotta love a bit of sledging:

Merv Hughes & Javed Miandad: During a test between Pakistan and Australia in 1991 Miandad tried to sledge Merv: "Merv you are a big, fat bus conductor". Only a few balls later Merv dismissed Miandad, ran past him and shouted: "Tickets please!".

My favourite is still the Glenn McGrath, Eddo Brandes one:
"Oh Brandes, why are you so fat?"
"Cos everytime I f*** your wife, she gives me a biscuit"

Alistair Cook
Average over his last 20 innings - 25.9
25 innings since his last 100 (130 vs NZ, Headingley May 2013).
He took 10 months to get 6 centuries between Autumn 2010 to Summer 2011.
He has made 6 centuries since Autumn 2011 to present.

Can we have our opening bat back please?
