Cook gone without adding to the overnight score... 75-1.

Driving at a full length ball from Sharma... edged to first slip.

Got to be some kind of error...please check and correct info. as necessary. Cook out in under a hundred, that's a good one...

26 mins into the day and 1 run scored. Based upon that rate, we may go into day 4!

Sadly, it IS true

And we have only added one run in 20 minutes this morning.

I think I said yesterday, they actually bowled well IMO, runs did look hard to come by. 3 down, they are starting to show some fight at last.

I just got back from the Oval. What a joke, between 10 to 24.5 overs = 50% refund. We saw 26 overs, 7 deliveries over the 24.5, and so no refund at all. How many other events can you see where you witness only 1/4 of the scheduled event and still have to pay full price? I see shit loads of cricket, but that is a piss take, I don't know why the spectator is the one taking the hit on the weather? It is bullshit to see so little cricket and have to pay so much. I'm thoroughly f***ed off, and not a single thing put on by Surrey to entertain the crowd in anyway. Weather is shit, we can all accept that, but your every day supporter shouldn't be paying for it just because they were unlucky enough to have rain.

On the plus side I met Wasim Akram whom I spotted having a fag outside the media stand at the Oval. In 1996, I witnessed him make Nick Knight soil his kit with such a furious spell of bowling along with Waqar Younis, it made an entire Lords crowd flinch in fear for the hapless Knight! He was happy to have a chat and a great man to speak to. A shine on an otherwise dull day.

bit unfair to blame surrey for the lack of entertainment that was provided yesterday (and yes i was there tooo) but for test matches the ecb are in charge. BTW agree about the no refund disgrace. should be on sliding scale.

no play 100%
25 % play 75% refund
50 % play, 50 % refund
75 % play 25 % refund
100 % play 0 % refund.

hardley rocket science

But I wouldn't expect the money obsessed twat that is Giles Clarke to agree

Yes sorry, it was a bit of a rant typed following a day drinking in the rain! There has to be some kind of offer of reduced prices or something next year for SA for ticket holders yesterday. £60 for 156 balls leaves a bitter taste.

The stats do not make pretty reading for Indian bowlers (or batsmen)

Cricket Records | Records | Pataudi Trophy, 2011 - India | Batting and bowling averages | ESPN Cricinfo

Z Khan 2/18 @ 9.00
P Kumar 15/443 @29.53
Yuvraj Singh 1/52 @ 52.00
I Sharma 11/620 @ 56.63
S Sreesanth 6/465 @ 77.50
A Mishra 3/233 @ 77.66
SK Raina 2/217 @ 108.50
Harbhajan Singh 2/287 @ 143.50

Compared to ours...

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/averages/batting_bowling_by_team.html?id=6112;team=1;type=series

SCJ Broad 21/251 @ 11.95
TT Bresnan 12/177 @ 14.75
JM Anderson 18/437 @ 24.27
CT Tremlett 4/124 @ 31.00
GP Swann 4/321 @ 80.25
IJL Trott 0/41
KP Pietersen 0/47

Six English batsmen average over 58. Only two Indians average over 40.

Edit: Oh and 402/2 - Pietersen 159*, Bell 151*

We are absolutely battering them again... is this a measure of our world dominance in test cricket or how bad the former world no.1 team is?

I worry that we're becoming the only country who is the remotest bit bothered by Test Cricket.

I hope that never happens, I'd lose all interest in cricket, I only care for the purest game, the five dayer.

I guess that's what happens when you're No.1

I personally wouldn't know coz I wasn't cricket aware in the 80's if that was the last time we weren't shit.

From my generation, to have the Albion thriving and England cricket to be so dominant is absurdly brilliant right now. What next - win the Olympics?
