Raheem Sterling, Jake Livermore and Adam Lallana are called into England squad they are all mid field players and why didn't we call up a forward like zamora or someone else

Three players with bugger all Premier League starts between them.
I'm not too worried about goals because Defoe and Lampard are both in great form. The bigger concern for me is Cahill; I'd rather have Jagielka alongside Lescott.

they won't play but good experience/exposure for them - I like the way that Hodgson is setting up for the future by gently introducing young players while retaining the side's experienced backbone. It gives them so much more chance of making the step up when their time comes. We may not have a lot to be excited about in terms of youngsters coming through but we appear to be determined to make the best use of what we do have.

Benno is still on crutches I think but even so, a long way from a call up and Sinclair needs to settle at his new club - maybe an example of Hodgson acting sensibly in the players' and the team's long term interest

I like the way with Sterling, Pearce said no I will not call him to the U21s as needs to stay in U18/19s and not get a big head, then 2 days later Hodgeson says F that and calls him up to full squad!

Great to see Lallana in there. He has made a great start to the season, even putting experienced internationals on their arses, literally. England need a player like him, we have a distinct lack of flair in the team. Also surprised Lambert didn't get a call after mugging off Ferdinand and Vidic for 80 mins the other week and making City's CB's look average when he came on.

Raheem Sterling call up bit of a shrewd move that by Hodgson, didn't realize he was trying to decide who to play for if he should go for Jamaica or England, does he have to play to be tied to England now or does the call up count, and now he can only represent England?
