I'm sure I once read that England never lost a game in which Viv Anderson played.
I notice from his wiki page that he got 30 caps in a ten year period covering 1978-'88. No mention of the England never losing stat though. So, did I imagine this ? Can any stattos confirm ?
Further question...
Fabio Capello played for Italy against England in 1973 - and scored the only goal. The clubs for the England XI that night were as follows...
1. Leicester City - Shilton?
2. Leeds United - Madeley?
3. Liverpool - Hughes?
4. Manchester City - Bell?
5. Derby County - McFarland?
6. West Ham United - Moore?
7. Sheffield United - Currie?
8. Southampton - Channon?
9. Chelsea - Osgood?
10. Leeds United - Clarke?
11. Tottenham Hotspur - Chivers?
So who were the players?
Mick Channon is correct.
One of the others is wrong. In fact, it's only half-wrong.
Peters instead of Chivers?
Yup. Well done.
