Exactly,do our managers never learn,we should by now be playing the team that will be playing in the finals to allow them to gel as a team.We will instead be playing with 11 good players that are not a team. This game is pointless Pearce should have got the job.

That would have been even more pointless as he is crap and we would never stand a chance of winning anything under him. At least we now stand some chance, not much granted, but more so than if Pearce was in charge.

If Hodgson had picked a full strength team and we picked up 3 injuries everyone would be slating him too.you can't have it both ways.

I agree, but given the fact that in Green's last game for England he made a calamitous mistake, was dropped and cast off into the international wilderness for 2 years he would be just as much in need of an 'easing of the nerves' as Ruddy.
I guess we'll never know who the real No2 was but I don't share your confidence in Green, I've seen him several times this year and I think he is at best 'ordinary', and at worst sh**t!

Luckily for us we have Joe Hart, eh?!

And how would we do that with Hart, Barry, Terry, Cole, Welbeck, Cahill and Walcott all unavailable for this match?

Pearce knows the squad and is young enough to build a team for the world cup, the current man is too old and indecisive as tonight proves, why is he not playing the 1st team so they can gel, he has no bollox we will win fcuk all with him in charge

on what evidence? you haven't seen what he can do yet. on the other hand he has managed several international teams to some degree of success. so why dont you at least give him a chance, or just f*** off??

We won in 1-0 against a team we've failed to beat in Oslo since 1966

Hodgson has had the team for 3 days!

What did you expect???

I think we can be well satisfied with that result last night.

Anyone else noticing a theme from our resident anger management struggler? Seems to hate all managers. Hodgson has a perfect record as manager of England, and he achieved it without our best goalkeeper, our best full backs and without our talisman up front. It was an effective performance and a WIN. Miserable moaning ninnies.

Definately! Now is the time to test untried players in case they're needed. Today is a match mainly made up of players trying to force their way into the squad. Would you rather Ruddy had his debut in a meaningless friendly or in a Euro quarter final?

I`d rather we had a team getting used to playing together

We only just beat a team that have not qualified

ahh right, so if that's the case then get Poyet out for losing 3-0 at Coventry last season and not beating Palace.

Seriously, show some element of common sense and perspective. Hodgson has been in charge of England for days not years or months. It'll take at least 3 years to get over the mess of McClaren and Capello created not a few days.

Norway are a good well organised side that, if any England fan will know, are traditionally very hard to beat and only lost out in qualifying to Portugal on goal difference.

He's the best Englishman for the job and no one has the experience Hodgson has so don't judge the performances of a makeshift team last night or even this tournament...Do it after the next world cup! You don't see the German or Dutch public and press slating their team after 90 minutes and three training sessions!
