Personally I dont see any problem with this.

He has the respect of the players. Generally with a good squad of players he has done ok.

And although a turnip, Graham Taylor made a point that there are currently 6 England managers still alive at the moment so why are we not using their experience.

Hes also "media friendly" as you could argue that hes been the most charismatic england boss ever.
