At the moment, I remain unimpressed by the 'new' talent on offer.

Previous favourites, in no particular order, are the Stranglers, Killing Joke, Compulsion, Blur, Done Lying Down, the Ruts, X Ray-Spex, etc.

Tonight, for reasons I couldn't even begin to explain, I am listening to Spitfire.

With perfect timing, I arrived at Liverpool Uni in 1981, about a year after Eric's closed and the Bunnymen et al had gone to seek wider fame and fortune. Still in time for The Icicle Works and very early Farm though - and to buy one of the first Frankie Says Relax T-shirts outside St.John's Precinct just before I left. Then moved to Manchester - and left just before baggy really took off. :shootself

Bunnymen at the Brighton Centre 1987 - Only gig I've ever coming close to passing out at due to lack of oxygen in the mosh at the front. Staggered/weaved my way to the back of the hall and had to sit/lie down for about 20 minutes until I came round.
:clap2:
Think the only reason I got into them was because of all the hype surrounding 'Ocean Rain' critically acclaimed in NME as 'the best pop album of all time' (or similar).

I've never liked them. Saying that, I saw them supporting New Order a few years ago and they were pretty good for a support band.

Brilliant band, hit and miss live as the auditor says depends if McCulloch is in the mood.
