I would have been on the fringes of the singing,as too young for the middle,but apparently Ginger was the notorious and ferocious leader of the North Stand.oh and he was reputed to be a bit of a carrot top as well.

I stood on the fringes also. Ginger was the leader of the North Stand. If the visiting fans, who stood in the North Stand as well in those days, took any liberties Ginger was not slow to practise his right hook. Wonder where he is now? Remember seeing him away at places like Bournemouth, Gillingham and Bath.

What happened to the chap with a head that was smaller than the average head? I remember standing near him in the North Stand fairly regularly.
