Earliest Off Peak Train to London

I have to be in London Thursday week and I can't find anywhere that gives me the definitive " this is the earliest off peak train you can catch at Portslade to London"

I assume its after 9 am, but can someone confirm that...Ernest, Beach Hut, Grovers?

I've always been led to believe it's the first train arriving in London after 10am.

I do this trip every other day from Portslade. The 8.48 to Victoria gets in a 10.01 and is the earliest off-peak train. You can change at Hassocks for the FCC to London Bridge which gets in a 10.04.

You can't use any Railcards for journeys departing before 10am.

i thought off peak for underground started at 9:30? I also thought all trains before 9:30 where peak too, where ever they are to/from.

Can't comment on underground, I'm strictly an overground type of guy. I would imagine you are correct, although for the arriving in London after 10am, it isn't going to make a whole lot of difference.
