Things have really gone against us up there this week. It was an excellent toss to win and the injury to rana has really ended to any hopes of winning this match.

Still Durham are a good side and have an excellent home record this season so it's no disgrace, I just hope we can do them a bit of damage in this chase.

Bugger and bollox. Looks like we're going to have to rely on Slurry to do us a favour next week. Now that's not a good situation to be in!!!!

Need to do what we did to Yorks last week but it doesn't look promising

I think this is how things will stand at the end of today: assuming a Hants defeat.

Adams was unble to field after getting hit on the foot batting.
Saqlain was unable to bowl after trapping a nerve in his knee.
Rana out for the season.

I'm going to book some time off work next week - reckon I might get a game.

Durham by the way, were docked a point for their over rate. May prove important.

That's good. Hadn't heard that. If only Lancs had been docked the threatened 8 points for their shite pitch last week, sadly the inspectors let them off...

We are still favourites to win the league. Lancashire can't handle pressure and would crack if they were playing eleven oil drums next week, never mind away to an in-form Surrey. We play Worcestershire at Hove. There are two factors that we can't predict: given their historical antipathy to Sussex, Surrey's attitude to the Lancashire game; and the weather.

Like most NCS contributors, I'm depressed about Sussex's capitulation at Durham, especially as we were so imperious against Yorkshire. Were Sussex over-confident after crushing the Tykes?

I'm wondering if Lancs were let off because one of the pitch-inspectors was former Sussex fast bowler Tony Pigott, who did not want to be seen to be favouring his former county.
