Let's face it, we can't afford to go up anyway.

This is a nothing season - and they all will be until we get Falmer built. :(

Mind you, a play-off final (win) would be nice...

Fifth isn't good enough in my book - we waste chances and squander opportunities. It should not all hang on whether we have a stadium or not - we should be winning games if we are playing on a recreation ground. McGhee should be having some sort of impact on the team by now, shouldn't he?

I remember when we were 4 points clear at the top... that can be no more than 3 months ago.

:(

Some people on here need a reality check.

Yes we have just been beaten, but at one of the better and more physical sides in the division. I thought Swindon were the best side to have been at Withdean this season, and certainly were going to cause us problems. It's hardly a major shock to have been beaten down there.

There is still a lot of potential in the squad that we have and it will take time for some of the younger players that are coming through to gel properly. We could do with strengthening in several areas but we all know that there isn't a pile of cash for McGhee to work with, and we are far from the only team in the division with that problem.

One defeat doesn't write the season off anymore than one win guarantees promotion.

Trouble is, four points clear seems all but a distant memory at the moment. We have got to stop the slide and now.

We're fifth and we're not very good.

Remember that compared to two seasons ago we have lost first choices in the shape of Zamora, Brooker, Sidwell, Lewis, Steele, Kitson, Morgan, Blackwell, Rodger........to say nothing of Daniel Webb.

We are Skint in more ways than one, it's pointless telling Dick to get his wallet out cos it's empty, and not the job of a chairman of a company to pour money down the drain anyway

This is anothing season. We will consolidate and maybe make the pay offs to make the end of season more interesting. A lot of our players reached their peak in the second half of last season and are going down the other side. The only thing that matters this season is the Falmer verdict, then and only then can we start to become a proper football club again.

We're 5th and THAT's a miracle......NO WAY are we promotion material, no way, Swindon wanted it more than us, and Leon should have played the whole game. Surely McGee wasn't fooled by the Wycombe game:nono:

What devine right do we have to say we should win everything ?

Some people are just too greedy for my liking.

We are and will remain a small town / city club until we have a stadium to attract more fans, better revenue and better players.

This is the best we can expect playing at Withdean and as far as I am concerned we have exceeded all expectations.

Mcghee was spot on when he said he reckons we may be able to scrape a play-off place with the current squad. He is keen to get 2/3 more players in (definitely a striker) and is confident that he'll be able to do so. With these new players, he thinks automatic promotion is a possibility.

I think he's being pretty realistic. We would be lucky to get to the play-offs at the moment but don't think we are that far off being a really good side.

Quite agree, have felt all season that we're not as good as we thought, new blood needed.
