Not sure about that.

I thought I'd been at a bank holiday afternoon game against Charlton in the late 70s when more than 34,000 turned up. There must have been several gates above 25,485 in that era.

Last game of the 77/78 season against Blackpool! attendance was over 32k if i remember. Was in the chicken run with my dad couldn't move all game.

The Boxing Day 1958 game vs Fulham is always credited to have been our record attendance but I will always maintain until my last breath that the crowd for Div III South promotion game vs Watford was larger as the ground was full and the cinder track around the Goldstone was full of children. Any other old timers remember this?
