I don't believe they killed her at all. Traces of blood in a car seems far too convenient for this case. Particularly as the car was rented 25 days after Madeleine disappeared.

I would be extremely keen to find out more facts as it is unwise to rely on snippets and speculation from the press.

setup? depends with news source you have on. this moring, ITV was all about the McCanns claiming they're being setup, over on BBC the reports where about the Portugese police playing down the significance of the DNA evidence.

head out of arse time: if there was DNA evidence in the form of blood in the hire car, which is confirmed 100% to have come from Madeline, the police cannot have planted it unless they found the body (think abnout it...). more likly, the evidence is in the form of hair which is easily transferable between items, and that wouldn't prove anything either way.

I heard on the news this morning that the police are saying that the blood in the car is not 100% deffenatley the childs.

I think whatever evidence the police have is circumstancal and unless they find a body that they can get some kind of ferensic eviedence from then guilty or not they will not be convicted of the crime.
