AT MOST GAMES IN THIS LEAGUE Fourteen Leeds United supporters were arrested following a violent incident at a Northampton pub which police believe was "premeditated".
They were arrested for violent disorder following the incident at a pub in Semilong on Saturday afternoon.
Two more men were arrested for public order offences at Sixfields and a further two arrested for threatening behaviour in incidents surrounding the Coca-Cola League One match.
Officers were called to an incident of violent disorder at a pub in Semilong and tracked the suspects to a pub in the town centre, which was cordoned off and contained, resulting in 14 arrests at about 4.30pm.
Supt George Shipman, who commanded the police operation at the match, said: "The disorder happened at a pub well outside the area of the ground and I can only think this may well have been premeditated.
"We had sufficient police on duty to deal robustly with all incidents and as a result we made a number of arrests."
Police escorted a group of about 200 fans who had been drinking in town to Sixfields.
Officers said it appeared the fans had underestimated the distance to the ground and the group was ushered by police in personnel carriers and mounted police, making them miss kick-off at the game.
A further 10 fans were ejected from the stadium for being in areas of the ground reserved for home supporters.
They made themselves known during the 1-1 draw when they celebrated Leeds' goal in the first half.
