13-15 is my expectation for a striker, that can include pens for any anti-Ashley Barnes, pens don’t count merchants[emoji23]

I'm with dazzer, you have unrealistic expectations. There really aren't many PL strikers from teams finishing in the bottom half of the table (unless your expectation is even more unrealistic than I've imagined) who get to 15.
We lucked out with Muzza, although:
-- a fair whack of his PL goals for us were penalties
-- he fits the bill of the striker that I was lampooning in my earlier post: a stunning goalscorer, but not good enough in terms of other attributes* -- this became even more evident in the 2019 bit of the 2018/19 season.

*I'm not including his defensive qualities at set pieces, which was excellent

Let’s see.

Given the chances we create I think 13-15 feels right or two hitting double figures.l but lower numbers

Re Barnes, that was more tongue in cheek, due to the stick he used to get, and someone on NSC stating pens don’t count.

IMO this seasons contribution by our forwards was not good enough, though of course Welbeck didn’t start that many.

I think you're being harsh on Welbeck there. Six goals from open play from 20/25 games (not all of which were 90 mins) is a positive return.
Maupay had a poor season in front of goal, yet still returned eight (how many other strikers in the bottom half of the PL beat that total?). I do think he contributes more in other aspects of his game.
Trossard is an infuriating player, doing it only one in five/ten games. He's got the quality, and I really expected him to kick on in his second season. That said, he still got five goals, all from open play.
Connolly went downhill this season, and seems to have a bit of an attitude problem.
So, beyond Welbeck, I agree with you, although I'd imagine there aren't too many on here that wouldn't agree on that proposition.

If Andone proved his fitness and attitude would a combo of Maupay, Welbeck, Andone, and Zeqiri be adequate? I see Tau being used as more of an attacking mid, probably inheriting the AJ minutes if he's moved on, and Connolly should be loaned out.

Just pure guesswork but if Andone had any potential future here he would have got some game time once we were safe. I don’t think we’ll ever see him in an Albion shirt again.

Welbeck, Maupay and the younger wannabees won’t be enough. What if Welbeck gets a long-term injury? The same old Albion/Potter era story of a stack of chances and half chances but not tucked away.

It probably won’t be Origi, but we 100% need an effective striker.

Origi is the type of striker we should be interested in dependant on 2 things

1. How much he wants
2. AL's character reference

A strike force of Origi, Welbeck, Maupay and Zeqiri would be good (as would one of Andone, Welbeck, Maupay and Zeqiri, but I think that ship may have sailed). Connolly on loan to Championship with recall option in Jan if we get new striker in.

He posted an instagram video today where he was with some sort of injury specialist. Im not so sure he was 100% over the last few games, we might not have wanted to risk anything in games that didnt matter rather than not playing him because we have no future use for him.

Problem for both Andone and Izquierdo. Didn't get them back in time to prove themselves one way or the other. I hold out slightly more hope for Andone, but not convinced either can get back to their best after so long out and think we will definitely let Izzy go if not both

Is it Connolly has an attitude problem or noisy minority on NSC who have the attitude problem with him. Not calling you out because you didn't say it, but I don't think half the posters who tack 'Connolly needs a season loan in the Championship' even have a clue why they say it. It's just become a trope to tack on the end of posts about strikers.

Remind me, what was Andone's best ?
