Did Murray celebrate his goals?

Hah. It looked that way the day we lost him. Where exactly were we going to find another hold up striker as complete as him? Ricky Lambert plays in the Prem.

Gus, Tanno and TB must see this, I am sure they are not in complete ignorance to our problems up front. Let see what the January sales bring us. As long as we are in and amongst the play-offs come January and can sign a Murray, Lambert, Holt or Roberts type player (obviously not going to get any of these) we might make a good fist of a promotion push without fading away like last year. Our back five is stronger than last year, our discipline is better, our midfield is a lot stronger. We are just missing the final piece of the jigsaw up front.

As in Glenn hardly set the world on fire last year and this season it doesn't seem like a good patch of form. He looks like he is a championship level striker capable of scoring 25+ goals in a season. Which is priceless.

I was referring to the phrase 'beginning'. I would say we are a long way past it 'beginning' to look a bad bit of business...

Perhaps it has more to do with him still being good mates with several of the Albion players on the pitch, who he still has a lot of respect for. After all, he spent several years in their company, training, socialising and playing. He must know that to score against them probably hurts a hell of a lot more than someone they don't know that well and he doesn't feel the need to rub their noses in it by celebrating wildly.

Matter of opinion VS matter of fact. Only time will tell. If we go up this season then it will be Glenn who? If we don't go up then we can perform our end of season autopsy and blame it on not keeping Glenn, Gus over loading us with midfielders, Gus's tactics (no Plan B), Ashley Barnes, CMS or Paul Barber.

Quite a few clubs are now changing penalty takers if they get a second pen. Man City and Man Utd have done it this season as well as Palace. I guess it gives the penalty taker less to think about. You don't start second guessing yourself deciding whether to put it in the same place or try and go the other way to fool the keeper. Wise move if you ask me.

He has missed a couple and the 2nd guessing yourself is an issue (weve seen it a couple of times) his misses are woeful where you can see he dont know what to do until he hits the ball, it also comes in useful in penalty shoot outs if you have a few players who have taken penaltys under the pressure of a real game, you couldnt see it but he does something with his fingers, I have never heard it explained (counting goals!?) but he always does it to the home fans, I was pissed of he didnt celebrate more, after all its been more that a season, but hes a funny bloke and rarely smiles, but I wouldnt swap him for CMS + £10m, great player and looks fitter by the week, as it has already been said he was ill but wanted to play and that is why he was taken off

Actually you are now confusing my opinion on Murray as somehow blaming other things. I'm not. I'm fully behind GP and the team, and think we are progressing very well. GM going though was a mistake. I would find it hard to imagine that if you had a private conversation with TP or GP they would not admit this, but that's football, you win some 'Buckley', you lose some. You have to get on with it.

I too think we are progressing well under GP and am more than happy. On my last post I was just giving a sweeping statement on the threads that appear all to frequently on this site. Which become incredibly dull and myopic of what Gus is trying to achieve here.

I think he doesn't celebrate because it's an option. He's a quiet, almost shy, individual - and the hatred of an entire fanbase is not something he needs in his life. Not celebrating is a no brainer for him.

I served him once, he actually sat on my till, well the bit where you place your stuff. Didn't seem that shy to me, but he was with his mrs who, by the way, is not bad! I asked him if he regretted joining palace (this was last year when he wasn't scoring) and he just smiled, saw my Albion badge on my tie and ignored my question.

He would be mad to celebrate his goals against us considering he still lives in Brighton.

I am amazed that he still lives in the City - can you imagine a Newcastle player switching to Sunderland and staying in Newcastle under similar circumstances?

I think the venom is slightly different. Ours is some fans on fans. Their derby is pure hatred of all and everything.
