We need a lot of fresh blood injecting into this squad. If Bloom isn't prepared to fund that, then a big player sale could help, but 4m doesn't buy you a huge amount these days.

If we're talking 7 or 8m, maybe more, then we can use that to buy maybe 4 players who can improve the starting 11 including the replacement defender.

Rather depressing to be talking about losing probably our best player to a club who finished mid table Championship last season though.

If we intend to sell for £4m, i'd have rather sold him for £3.5m two weeks ago. Given how long it will take us to find a replacement.

Just as if we sell him for £4.5m in two weeks time i'd rather take the £4m now!

Maybe we should sell our star striker to Leicester for £10m... And a winger and defensive midfielder for another £6m combined. We'd have loads of money to spend then.

We've slipped from being a Top 4 club to a lower half club because we've sold all of our best players. With Greer coming to the end of his career and Dunk his natural successor as defensive leader this would be a huge set-back on the eve of the new season.

Because we have absolutely no cover the money would have to be huge, especially if he goes to a promotion-chasing rival like Fulham.

Sadly, the writing seems to be on the wall here....

Urgh. Fulham offering 4M meanwhile we can't afford even half that, having your best players poached by teams taking advantage of an extremely unfair system, parachute payments can do one.
