England boss Steve McClaren's plans for the Euro 2008 qualifiers with Estonia and Russia have been hit by a knee injury to West Ham striker Dean Ashton.
Ashton was injured during the Hammers' 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday.
West Ham boss Alan Curbishley said: "It looks like it is the knee ligament so he must be doubtful."
With Michael Owen's fitness uncertain and Emile Heskey sidelined, Ashton, 23, looked likely to play at Wembley on 13 October and in Moscow four days later.
