With respect, do you REALLY think the club makes decisions on who to sign/not sign based on petitions from fans?

I for one certainly hope not. I would rather these decisions be left to the professionals at the club.

If he comes back I guess that will be good. He had his moments, but didn't set the world alight on a consistent basis.

So what are we saying here. There is no chance that the club offered him a contract, withdrew it as he took too long to sign. Then sat back down with him and his agent after the fans showed disappointment that he hasn't re signed. I'm not saying this is what has happened but don't think that is too far fetched.

Lots of examples in the past where certain managers and players have been signed and sacked with fans influence.
