Sorry, but the fact is that Gus DID try to get him in, during last season, so not something you can completely rule out.

Far be it from me to disagree with Lord Gus but like many NSCers I don't want Kitson at our club. Please explain what Kitson offers to us (based on his most recent form) that Paynter, Vokes etc didn't - other than a bigger wallet and being a bit of a cock?

I'm not going to attempt to, as I too, think he is a cock. Just saying that Gus did want him.
