Just a quick poll for all the cyclists out there.

How many of you wear a cycle helmet and how many don't?

Car drivers without a bike, click the tin-canner option

Oh, and I wear mine all the time (especially in the forest and on the Downs), having seen a mate of mine try to bounce head first off chalk at 30mph and split his helmet it makes you realise what they're there for.

I always remember an Argus front page picture which had a cyclist holding up his helmet with a large piece of glass sticking out of the top following a crash. Without the helmet he would almost certainly have been killed. That said, I own one but never use it, my cranium's too big and I'd opt for death rather than looking a twat riding around town in my helmet.

I am only ever asked why I am not wearing one by lard arsed motorists who never ever go any where under their own steam- if they cycled up Southover St wearing a helmet they would know why I sometimes have to dangle my helmet over my handlebars (sorry Les).:afro:

Not on road. I don't take risks and don't cycle like a prat.

Sometime wear it off road (depending on the route I'm taking).

It's not a legal requirement to slit your wrists. Does that mean you do it?

Thats about as sensible a comparison as the old mothers thing of "If your friend Johnny jumped off a cliff..."

And what if I did? I could be a depressed emo kid, sitting in a darkened room slashing myself to My Chemical Romance, for all you know :D

No, you seem too normal for that. Oh, and the fact you're about 40 (I think no offence meant if your younger) probably nulls the comment "kid" quite heavily.
