Anyone been through this lately? The sides are all done but the ceiling appears to have only just started. However, according to the BBC website the work is complete? The roof panels look stupid left like that! :US:

Just out of interest, does anybody know why it's called the Cuilfail Tunnel? Looks like a Welsh or Gaelic word or something.

In the late nineteenth century, the land above the tunnel was owned by a solicitor who named it after a house he owned in Scotland.

It might have been this place:-

The tunnel gets its name from the Cuilfail area of Lewes, where there are a few houses in a wooded area on the hillside in a development known as Cuilfail

The tunnel cuts through the hill below where some of this development used to be some properties demolished and a graveyard were moved to make way for the tunnel.

The land above the tunnel, which now includes the golf course, was owned by a local solicitor who is said to have named it after a house he owned in Scotland. Apparently the Gaelic root means "Shelter” or “Retreat”.

Thanks Greens :(
When I go past it on the train of an evening, the traffic coming out of it going to the Southeram roundabout is always in a massive queue

Wouldn't like to have to do that trip by road every evening :p
