Can someone please just promise me that in no way, shape or form is DAVE KITSON involved?
I cannot promise that, no.

I really would not have a problem with a player with International experience who can win the ball, hold it up and give us some muscle up front. I can't believe how unrealistically high our expectations have become in a year.

But given above it looks like its Kitson!
Oh no, is that cause..
1. he is involved
2.or cause you have no idea what so ever?
Please be 2 Please be 2 Please be 2 Please be 2
It may not follow that the main perm target is a better player, or even comparable, just Gus has a preference for a perm deal?
We've been told the identity of a player who is 'secured' as a back up option, yes, and trust the source who has told us.
Indeed - we know that our first target was Sebastian Ribas - very good player but how excited would people on here have been had we managed to sign him. The vast majority would never have heard of him

Quick trip to Wiki would have sorted that, especially if misterspatch had edited his goals to game ratio as well.

Come on then whats his name
Do we have any idea how "iminent" this may be. I'm thinking that the "loan" striker would be taken only if the permanent deal is definitely a no go, so is that a case of trying, trying and trying again for this permanent deal until teh window starts closing, then we make a 31st Aug move for the back-up loan deal.
I would hope Gus wants whichever target lands, to be with us for the start of the season. A Zamora-style (or Zamora himself - someone did mention a NSC "meltdown") addition the day before the season kicks off.

Correct.
Correct.
In which case, we wouldn't want to leave it too late, as by the end of August EVERYONE is chasing any available striker, so we wouldn't want him to get interest from a better option.
