1300 fans yesterday to see a top of the league team.

If they do manage to gain promotion to the Football League how the hell will they manage financially with such a low fan base?

How is their financial situation? Believe they are bankrolled by a guy with money, but is he really in it for the long term? Hope his finances are in better shape than the Indian crook who was the previous chairman.

It will all end in tears
Brodie is on over £1500 a week with a gate of 1,300 and that is only one player.
Gates of 1,300 being top of the league, what happens if they get promoted and struggle or the invisible backer gets bored:bigwave:

Ahem ... they were 2nd in the league at the start of the game, and they are 2nd in the league now - after AFC Wimbledon entertained a crowd of 3,114 with a 3-2 victory over Kettering.

Luton had 5,963 at their game, Newport County had 1,867.

2 or 3 teams regularly have under 2000 at home games in League 2, sometimes as low as 1200-1300. If Crawley get promoted there will be a natural increase in attendance, as would any team getting promoted to any division.

Is that the case if you swap a successful winning team, for a struggling losing team, albeit a division higher?

Not sure it does.

To start with there will be plenty of enthusiasm for them in the league, lot's of curious locals coming for a watch, then, if they do OK they'll hang on to some of them, and probably get a few more. Crawley also have a bit of money behind them, so a bit splashed on some players, maybe they wouldn't struggle at all?

Accrington Stanleys attendences went up by a few hundred when they initially got back into the League, but have now dropped back down to the kind of levels they had when they were a successful non-league club. There may be a small boost to the average attendence figures as League clubs will probably bring more visiting supporters, but the notion that Crawley will suddenly see a substantial regular increase in crowds just because the likes of Torquay and Morcombe are visiting is highly debatable.

Gate receipts alone will not finance the kind of spending they've been doing this year, and whatever small increase they get in crowds certainly won't be enough to bankroll them if they make it into the League.

Can't say I disagree with any of that Easy. And if they do go up, they'll be one of the 24 teams in league 2 that struggles financially, regardless of crowd size.
