Could the Martinez to Villa situation affect us?

Please stop the wheels from grinding in that head, this stuff is duller than dishwater - and all you can do is make yourself neurotic.
In other words, get a life.

Thanks for your input

Bizarre that a manager has affinity with his club and stays?
Sign of the times I suppose.

Is it a sign of the times, or just being realistic? If I was offered a similar job at a bigger firm, better paid, and with a better chance of success I'd take it in a snap. IMO the case of Martinez is even more acute because I don't really see what he can actually achieve there beyond continued survival, whereas Villa undoubtedly have potential.

All but the most blinkered among us have admitted that if Gus was offered the Villa job or similar we'd expect him to take it. Wigan are (at best) a similar-sized club to ourselves, just higher up the league pyramid at the moment, so I think it's pretty reasonable to have similar expectations in terms of managers' behaviour.
