[Albion] Coronation on May 6th

In my book, May 6th. should probably be Cup Final day. The world has moved on. UEFA or FIFA or the EPL have probaly come up with something that minimises the importance of the once cherished Cup Final Day - so if Charley3 f***s them all off by trumping them with a world wide spectacle that more of the world than some on NSC can imagine will watch ........

........ in that case, go Charlie boy go! It'll be on my TV (expecting an infraction from NSC any time now!)

Blame the winter break insisted by FIFA for Qatar. The football season is delayed because of that.

Sorry, but I can still remember the 50s (a bit) and the 60s.

Football stopped for the cricket seson back then.

Yes, that's fair comment GT.

Having just checked the dates of the '60s Finals, it seems like the Final dates differed by around a full month.

6 May 1961. 5 May 1962. 25 May 1963. 2 May 1964. 1 May 1965. 14 May 1966. 20 May 1967. 18 May 1968. 26 April 1969.

The 1970 Final was played on the 11 April. That was a bit early!

No doubt despite the Coronation being in the morning, the Police will say that for the security operation they can't Police games.
At this rate the season will end two weeks after the 23/24 season starts.

King Charles III is as much of a football fan as I am of Formula One.

Did he present our only World Cup to the most legendary English player? No. Will he ever attend Wembley? No? Prince William will if we stage a big tournament.

The transition from Queen to King has already taken place, why do we need more money spent on some dude putting a crown on his head ?

I read in some World Cup book that England decided to end their season earlier to go to Mexico for the World Cup a few weeks earlier than normal.

There is talk of moving the Monday 1st BH to Friday 5th or Monday 8th to make it a long weekend.
Apparently, it is going to be a scaled down coronation, unlike the Queen’s in 1953, where the service alone was three hours.
