Amazing how many musical 'snobs' watched it, as it apparently was so bad in their eyes.

Embarrassing.

I tried to get a ticket for my Mum for this and failed. I'd say she dodged a bullet

What a fantastic event. Lionel Ritchie is a bit before my time so never really heard him sing before, but he was pretty shit.

Lights were cool. Nice to see the royals enjoying themselves and we do put on a good show don't we!
before he went solo ( corporate) he was in a band called the Commodores. They were quite good.

he should have retired 30+ years ago.

Soul Train was brilliant. In the mid 80’s C4 aired it each week.
The “tunnels” they used to create and then couple dancing down them were sheer genius..or comedy gold depending on your point of view

A hero of mine Jeffrey Daniel starred as a dancer on the show, then later on Soul Train with Shalamar. Great times.

Loved it how the blokes took it really seriously with outrageous moves and the women mostly just wandered down jiggling a bit

Saw about 5 mins and concluded that Katy Perry can't sing to save her life. Talk about pitchy :(
