Reading have had a bid for Crystal Palace defender Darren Powell accepted.

Their earlier bid of £125,000 was rejected, but Reading boss Steve Coppell has now been back with a higher offer for the 27-year-old.

Powell, who has been suffering from a thigh injury, has not yet agreed personal terms with Coppell - his former manager at Brentford. They will meet later this week.

The man has been injured for ages and has just started back and there must be a good chance he will get injured again soon.

If he was any good palarse would keep him:eek:

Must be trying to recreate his Brentford team. Powell, Owusu, Sidwell, Ingemarsson any one else?

This is good psychology by Coppell as they already have experience of losing in the playoffs.
