Clowns: funny or creepy?

I saw a picture of a clown on another thread and it got me thinking. I know I can't be the only person who thinks clowns to be anything but funny. In my opinion they're freaks, and more than a little bit creepy. I always hated them as a kid and I still do.

I mean, really, what the f**k!??!

Is anyone out there amused by their "hilarious" antics? Personally, when the day comes, I'll never be letting my kids anywhere near one of these big-trousered, kiddy fiddling (probably) freaks.

I always found clowns to be a bit sad, they usually paint their faces up to present a jolly facade, a bit like pebble dashing a house when the brickwork underneath is shot to pieces.
