Could be bad news for Albion.....he was a guaranteed failure.

To the contrary, I think this is excellent news for us.

Couldn't be a worse time for a club to sack it's manager. How many potential new managers will be put off by the perilous state of affairs at the New Den.

Manager Claridge sacked by Lions
Millwall have sacked manager Steve Claridge after just over a month in charge of the Lions.

A club statement said: "The board of directors believe that it is in the best interests of the club that this move is made now."

It added: "A new manager can be appointed quickly in advance of the start of the season."

Ex-Wolves boss Colin Lee has taken over with immediate effect from Claridge, who was in the job just 36 days.

Millwall drew 2-2 with Gillingham in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, having been 2-0 down.

Claridge, who had two spells as a player with the club, succeeded Dennis Wise after he resigned in May.

Several key players have left the New Den since Claridge took over on 21 June.

Chairman Jeff Burnige - who appointed Claridge - has also resigned during an uncertain summer for the Lions.

quickly looks over shoulder.....

Another ex player that seems to be clueless when it comes to management but somehow gets invited on TV a lot to be a pundit and give his opinions on what other managers should do during a game.

Now that was the quickest manager Millwall have ever had, how long was he manager for? :lolol:

So what did he do wrong? Not getting on with the new chairman (maybe) isn't a sign of not being a good manager, Cloughie would've seen it as the job's pre-requisite.

On NSC for over two decades...
Millwall are all over the shop these days... They seem to spend all their time taking careful aim at their feet, and then shooting.

They'll probably get promoted now...

On the other hand, they've probably got to pay a year's salary to one of their top earners for 36 days work. That's money that might otherwise have been spent on a key loan signing.

Good news methinks.
