I wish I could claim, with complete honesty that I hate all Christmas songs. But I still can't resist watching The Snowman and getting stupidly pleased when they fly over the pier to the accompaniment of "Walking In The Air".

O little town of Bethlehem or the Sussex carol.

I consider it a travesty that no one has mentioned "I wish it could be Christmas everyday" by Roy (we are not worthy) Wood and Wizzard. Kept off no 1 spot by Slade's "Merry Christmas", in itself a none too shabby tune.

Also like Greg Lakes " I believe in Father Christmas".

You have GOT to be kidding me. Keating does to this exactly what he does to any song he covers - turned it into dull, emotionless, syrupy ballad dross.

That version of the song falls into the Daniel O'Donnell category of "safe, harmless music for the nearly dead", and is certainly not a patch on the original IMO

Great minds think alike.

This is my favorite christmas song.

Favorite christmas carols Adeste Fidelus or O Holy Night

Fairytale of New York with the Pogues and Kirsty McColl, probably the only decent Christmas hit...anything that contains the line "Happy Christmas my arse, I pray God it's our last"...has to be good with me.

I am starting to get really pissed off with all this Christmas stuff, it is supposed to be a religious festival but how many people who celebrate it are actually Christians and not just dragged in by the commercialism of it all, not many I would wager. I would rather celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival, at least you get something half decent to eat.
