The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York

Not just my favourite Xmas song, but the only one I actually like.

On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me.

1. An emu up a gum tree.

2. Two pink galahs.

3. Three jabirus.

4. Four kookaburras.

5. Five kangaroos

6. Six platypuses

7. Seven koalas climbing.

8. Eight possums playing.

9. Nine wombats working.

10. Ten lizards leaping.

11. Eleven numbats nagging.

12. Twelve parrots prattling.

Wherever The Mood Takes Me
Last Christmas - Wham
Driving Home For Christmas - Chris Rea
Perfect Christmas - S Club 7
Santa Baby - Kylie
All I Want For Christmas - Mariah Carey

I like most of them actually, the only one that really annoys me is that Pogues Fairytale Of New York one. It's so depressing. The Ronan Keating & Maria Brennan version is slightly better, but not much.

There are actually loads of decent Christmas tracks, but people don't like to admit it!

You have GOT to be kidding me. Keating does to this exactly what he does to any song he covers - turned it into dull, emotionless, syrupy ballad dross.

That version of the song falls into the Daniel O'Donnell category of "safe, harmless music for the nearly dead", and is certainly not a patch on the original IMO

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting the feeling you don't like it then Frutos ?
