The guy has got something to offer, but McGhee is a positional tactician. Why not give him a go in midfield.

He simply does not score goals, not in the first team anyway.

Because McPhee has been in and out of the team it's difficult to say. I think of Steve Melton as a fringe player who slipped out of the picture and where is he now ? I thought he looked quite useful when he played.

I don't think that Melton is even in Boston's first team (he was born in Lincolnshire BTW).

I don't think thats fair really. He scored 8 or so last season didn't he? Then MM came along and since then hasn't had much of a run in the team.

I'm afraid Chris McPhee doesn't have enough about him for me. It's a shame as he often looks nearly good enough, but he's not quite got it. He's got good all round ability, but needs to have exceptional ability somewhere, whether it be touch, vision, pace, strength or aerial threat.

Looks like a good League Two striker to me.

He also scored a cracker against Reading, he just didn't fit into Coppell's plans.

I think McPhee will go the same way as the likes of Dan Marney eventually. Will be delighted if he proves me wrong, but never seen anything to make me think he'll turn a game.

Send him out on loan fora couple of months next season and then reappraise the situation again. I personally do not think that he will be good enough for Football League O0K for a Conference side though.

I wonder if he'll get a chance to start tomorrow. McGhee is talking about bringing Virgs back to mark Akinbiyi.

I don't think he'll make it as a pro. Sorry.
