Cheers Hiney, I had pretty much wiped the 70's out of my memory...that just brought them back again!

Hiney do you know that Chicory Tips, Son of my Father kept Don Maclean`s American Pie from reaching number 1.

Its Sweet for me for that reason only.

The Sweet because they were Better than tip. (although still got the original tip vinyl Album never bought any sweet albums although did buy Ballroom Blitz single the day it came out).

Just bought both Fox albums on CD too, still have the original vinyl of the first Fox album Still remember the concert at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Assembly Halls like it was yesterday.

I have both those singles in my collection!

Voted for The Sweet as it's a far better song.

I thought that American Pie was number 2 to Without You by Nilsson, but I guess my memory isn't all that!

Tips song was adapted as an anthem for Kenny Beamish, who was going to be a big star at Albion.

But i'll go for Sweet as their songs remeind me of my young gang days on the streets of Coldean.

Saw Sweet at the Dome when Ballroom Blitz was No1, brilliant, forget all the glitter, they really knew how to rock.

Right here, right now
Got to be The Sweet - many more memorable hits than Tip.

How strange that i heared the 'Tip on the radio today, 1st time in years.

On this wet & miserable day, i have 'Smooth' radio on and it's surprisingly good. no Smashy 'n nicey yet though! Currently playing 'Raindrops keep falling on my head', how topical is that then?
