I need to get up to Manchester or Sheffield tomorrow after 6, the cheapest rail ticket is £23, does anyone know where I can get one cheaper. Cheers in advance.

£23 is pretty reasonable.

The cheapest to Leeds in advance is £19 return.

Your only chance is to avoid anything between 3 and 7.30 and try for a cheaper one there.
