"Brooks Mileson has agreed to give the Carlisle United trust the £600,000 needed to buy a 40% stake in the club within the next few weeks.
Owner Fred Story has said that negotiations will have to take place between all parties and that these negotiations should take place outside the media.
It is thought the cheque will be handed over at the Morecambe game on Sunday 2 January."
