Car Insurance help needed

My car has a 1.8 engine and the cheapest quote I've found so far is £1134 per year :nono: From Nationwide, who claim they'll refund the difference if I find owt cheaper. I've tried confused.com as well which searches 94% of the companies online.

Any suggestions?

Just got a quote from Hastings Direct for my 1.8l people carrier, fully comp for £277. That does include 9 years no claim bonus but try them on line

I have a 1.6 Escort and no no claims and still managed to get fully comp for £440 from Elephant. Did you get one of those accelerator deals where you get a years no claims in 10 months?

Nope. I'm fully loaded with no claims so I guess thats the difference.

Not looking forward to renewing my insurance come September. My no claims bonus went out the window earlier this year after a minor disagreement with a deer.

If you've only just passed your test it's going to cost lots of money.

I think a smaller car may be in order.

(p.s. last time I renewed my insurance Zurich was the cheapest)

Accept that you're going to get pay a fortune if you're young.

Or get your parents to insure it and put you on as a named driver. Obviously paying them back for it. Disadvantage is you won't get any no claims bonus, but it will save you a lot.
