Well I don't know what it does mean, it reads to me like you're saying I must be lacking some way, maybe cognitively, I don't know.

I cannot see anywhere that I've been ignorant on the subject, my points seem to be correct. If there's a point I've made that's incorrect, it should be easy for you to quote it. Otherwise it's just noise and general accusations that aren't correct, like this:

That is all I did. One person said they thought it was bad for heath and anti-social, another said that's not why it was made illegal, I asked why it was made illegal, and explained why I think it seems it was because they believed it to be bad for health and anti-social.

That was it. No offending anyone, not accusing anyone of arguing for the sake of it etc, just a simple point.

Below.

Come on everyone. Let's all kiss and make up before some knobhead mentions Pringles and their sadistic enjoyment of reading others going through friction. No one on this thread means any harm, it's just a matter of different views colliding.

There is at least one person that thinks it is acceptable for people to be harmed and some die rather than change our stupid drug legislation.
No harm my foot!

Durham police chief calls for legalisation of cannabis in UK

“When I joined the police in Blackpool 38 years ago there was one drug squad detective; now everybody is on it. I’ve seen a remarkable deterioration in drugs in society over the last 38 years. What we are doing is not working.

“The status quo is not tenable. It’s getting worse. Drugs are getting cheaper, stronger, more readily available and more dangerous. I have come reluctantly over the years to the conclusion that we need to regulate the market. If you can regulate the market you can make sure it’s old-fashioned cannabis – not skunk or spice.”

Barton said the moral argument used against cannabis, that legalisation would be seen as a signal encouraging people to take it up, was bogus. He said: “If someone is an adult and makes a choice to do something that does not harm anyone else, who are we to judge? People have already made that judgment – a third of people have tried it.

The people who think cannabis should be prohibited have secured the high ground on their moral position. But if it is a plant which is freely available and a third of people have decided they want to take it, the prohibition argument has lost its efficacy. Prohibition does not work. We are creating a latter-day mafia in the UK.”

He added the ban benefited criminals, not public safety. “Organised crime is buying land and property to launder their money. That money could be paying for the care of the elderly, education, rehabilitation of drug addicts,” he said.

His call for a debate was supported by Simon Kempton, the vice-treasurer of the Police Federation, which represents 120,000 rank-and-file police officers. “The Police Federation believe that it’s time to have an informed and open public debate on the future of drugs legislation incorporating health, education and enforcement programmes,” he said. “After 100 years of prohibition on the use of drugs, it’s time to ask whether this approach is working to address the issues around drug use.

“The police service must focus efforts in areas that cause the most risk and harm to the public and for some chief constables that means focusing on areas other than cannabis.”

Former Scotland Yard senior officer Brian Paddick, now a Liberal Democrat peer, said: “Legalisation will reduce the harm it causes. You can control the strength and make sure under-18s don’t get hold of it, take it out of the hands of criminals and raise considerable amounts in taxation.”

I was not debating alcohol.

I have formed an opinion that I am happy with. I don't need to do further research.

It was not a stereotype, just personal experience of the way it happened for them. A situation they chose to withdraw from.

I don't read newspapers. I mainly consume my news from BBC news online and on TV.

My education comes from medical experts on TV which backs my upbringing, chosen belief and that of the way I have parented my own children.

Well aware that I am arriving rather late on this thread, but this is without a doubt the most ignorant thing I have ever read on here to the point it's actually infuriated me. It is people like you that make this place an unbearably tedious place to live, spouting your own uninformed opinions as if you know better than everyone, having done no research whatsoever. You sound like a 'flat earther' or a religious idiot who ignores evidence and refuses to believe in evolution because the bible told you it's not real so that's your opinion and you're sticking to it. It is idiocy of the highest kind. Coming from a scientific background where everything is researched to the nth degree, to the point where scientists will spend forever trying to disprove their own theories to make sure they are tight, I look at people who behave like this as one of the biggest hindrances to progress there is. You should research everything whether you like the answers you find or not, at least then you will know what you're talking about and not come across as a bit of an idiot tbh. Rant Over.

I appreciate you are late to the thread. It sounds a bit like you have not read all my posts? Firstly I do not believe I know better than anyone else but I am entitled to form my own values.

I can see you are infuriated by my values and beliefs. Please can I clarify that I don't think less of someone who faces adversity. If that is your assumption. I just don't agree that the government should legalise yet another drug that causes so much harm to a person and society. I understand why people self medicate and not for one second are they bad people. I just believe that there should be understanding from health care professionals to help anyone make healthy choices for management and recovery. People who find the strength to face their problems and make strong attempts forward, I find inspirational and I greatly admire.

It is not someones fault they have a problem and I just don't believe we as a society should be encouraging bad lifestyle choices over healthy ones.

I have already made clear I am not religious at all and evolution is real. The earth is a sphere.

Science is a great interest of mine. The research on this subject points to trying to help people but I disagree with helping people that way. I would like to see mental health, emotional trauma and stress treated with more effective treatment rather than leaving people to manage their own needs through any drug, legal or otherwise. I believe it would be a mistake to make another drug legal. The fact that I have formed my own opinion from watching many rigorous TV debates and from life experience is my choice.

You let yourself down to call another person an idiot without asking them first if you have imagined them correctly. I will leave you to contemplate what would be the correct word to describe someone who behaves like that!

I am actually not infuriated by your beliefs at all, I’m infuriated purely by the sentence ‘I don’t need to do any more research’ when it’s quite clear to everyone except you that you do. For what it’s worth I don’t like weed, I don’t like the smell of it and for the most part, most people I know who take it regularly I don’t particularly like either. I am 100% for legalising it however, as it has quite clear and proven medicinal purposes, evidence shows repeatedly that legalising it reduces crime and use. Though I may not like the people I know that regularly use it, you’d be hard pushed to find any of them violent or antisocial. You argued that you shouldn’t have to breath in their second hand smoke, which if you ask me is a very reasonable request, but there’s no reason to suggest it can’t go the same way as cigarettes, largely banned in public places or undesignated areas. No reason it can’t go the same way as alcohol, where you are free to consume it as you wish, but get found using it before work and you can be sure you’ll be fired and get caught using it whilst driving or operating machinery you can be sure you could face criminal charges for some sort of negligence. You come across as completely obtuse on your stance about a thing which, as a non user, doesn’t really affect you at all. I don’t smoke it but can find it somewhere around me almost every day, I can safely say the negative impact it has on my life is absolutely zero.

The reason I don't feel the need to do further research, is because I am all ready aware of both sides of the debate.

There seems to be things we agree on but I don't see people who use it as bad people. I just don't want to socialise with people while they are smoking it. If people see people in a negative way who smoke it, it is probably because they don't understand them properly.

I respect your view, that you agree with legalisation, I just don't think it is the way forward. Its okay that we differ.

Cigarette smoke hangs in the air and I don't want to smell smoke from either.

Pandora's box is open where alcohol is concerned. It would be totally impractical to make it illegal now.

I feel you are interpreting my words incorrectly. I have valid reasons for my values and I don't wish to discuss these online.

It does effect me now as someone living locally to me uses it sometimes and so I am sure it would if legalised.

.

That's very judgmental. Drugs effect everyone in different ways. I've got no problem socialising with anyone regardless of their state of mind. The above comment means you would struggle talking to epilepsy sufferers , MS sufferers, cancer sufferers etc because of their medication if legal.

Ignorant is an understatement

You misunderstand, I just don't want to be around them while they are smoking because I don't like the smoke. I find it detrimental to me but I am happy for other people to do as they choose. I thought I had made it clear by now. Medical use I am in favour with, produced specially and safely for those who need it.

This was in response to Albalbion, who knew people who smoked it he did not like. In no way am I meaning any offence. I am sure there are nice people who use it.

Fair enough. My misunderstanding. I apologise.

Just to let you know, more and more people are vaporising weed these days. There's vape pens specifically designed for weed.

Everytime i view this thread i pray Btnbelle has left. Unfortunately not :( Alcohol and Cigarettes kills millions every year. Cannabis to date has killed 1 person i believe. A mexican drug smuggler died when 2 tonne of packaged cannabis fell on to his him killing him immediately. I don't drink or smoke. I vape cannabis not just for medicinal reasons, but because i enjoy it. Im not an addict. Its a choice. Just like its your choice to drink alcohol whenever you like. Open your eyes. The world is changing.

What's vaping it like? Same effects?

Dabbing messed me up first time I tried it. Had no idea how much to take, and as it's so clean, just keep on going!
Flew home that night after a fireworks show on the beach.

New smokers should definitely avoid Dabs, very easy to ingest and tastes amazing, but too much and you will never do it again. You may then join the Btnbelle Brigade
