Not a lot of people know this ...

The tune of Ilkey Moor Baht'at was originally a hymn tune called "Cranbrook" (after the Kent village). It was used for "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night", before some dullard of a Victorian church organist decided that he had a "better" tune for those words.

I have an old porgramme that was my Dad's and there is an inlay with extra lyrics for Sussex by the Sea written by Norman Wisdom.

They included some of this version at the Centenary Service too. Brighton & Hove, by Jove!
