CAMERA FILTERS help please

CAMERA FILTERS

I am interested in a 52mm filter to protect the lens but also to reduce glare etc.

Should I be after a UV, or a 1b?

Help, should I stick to Hoya or are there better quality filters out there

Hoya multi coated is about the best you will get others cost more but can you see the difference, I doubt it. UV although to really reduce glare use of a lens hood, or if no lens hood placing the hand in the correct place above the camera works.

Are these film cameras? If so, some like Olympus adjust for the warmth of the skylight filter. 52 mm thread sounds like a wide-angle lens.

i am soon to get a pentax k10 with the standard basic zoom lens, but for £29 who cares, its a 18-55 zoom, with 52mm

Worthing
:stupid:

The skylight filter adds a bit of warmth to the photo whereas, personally, I don't like the skintones with a 1b. HTH.

Why stupid?

It's surely the cheapest option to protect the lens.

Which is what I said.

I didn't comment on the reduction of glare as Timco had suggested a hood / hand solution. And he should know!
