Incidentally an odd decision if you ask me. Surely the title 'Director of Football' implies someone who is not necessarily a great technical manager or coach, but who knows the game in and out and can manage personnel. Surely this is the opposite to Woodward's skills?

Also interesting to read that from the sounds of things, Woodward was involved in the interview and selection process with Lowe.

f***ing great appointment. Woodward has innovative knowledge of fitness and training and Burley is clearly technically and tactically adept as a manager. A good combo. Shame.
