It's giving me a bit of a headache trying to make sense of this.
However, I guess that the main point that you are trying to get across is that you disagree with me.
I suggested that whether the song is racist or not depends on who you are building a bonfire for, and why. The 'and why' part of my sentence is the important part, suggesting as it does, that intent in the mind of the singer is important. If it is intended to be racist, then it is.
Sorry I was trying to be ironic more than anything.
So tell me how are you going to prove what was in their minds?
I agree what is in their minds is very important but this, I think, is very hard to prove.
I just think, as with a lot of things, we have swung too far.
