Just subscribed to Wanadoo Broadband and went against all my principles by buying it in PC World.

At £17.99 a month is it good value? Not quite sure how the restrictions on downloading and usage work in practice. Anybody got any ideas?

I know one thing, it's keeping me from my pit.............

Broadband is the future, we should all have it!
Altough personally, I wouldn't have anything Freeserve-related within a million miles of my PC!

Broadband is fantastic, had it for a couple of years now and it totally opens up th einternet to different opportunities like <cough> downloading software <cough>
It pays for itself pretty much.

The £17.99 deal from Wanadoo is only a couple of quid more than their Anytime dial up, and is about 1000x better. I've even signed up for Seagulls World since I got it!

I seem to be downloading more music, and even stretching to films and software, now, so definately the right move.

As to the bandwidth limit, just suck it and see. If you find you keep hitting the limit, the upgraded version isn't really that much more expensive if you consider how much you have to use it to bust the lower limit.

Enjoy!

i reckon its a little over-rated. No seriously. Its great for downloading stuff (legel or illegal) and it means you can watch the comedy mpegs etc that are are about, but i could live without. i usually download anything big at work and burn it to CD anyway.

There's so much flash and crapply written javascript on sites these days it hardly makes a difference to normal browsing (and i have tested this).

What id rather have is TV/cable/sky down the line.

BB is great, had been on 56k for years until BT pulled their fingers out and gave us 512k earlier this year. I use it for downloading stuff quickly but mainly for online games...sooooo much fun!
Might upgrade to 1meg connection soon.

I got AOL. Reasonably priced. Lots of extra bits and no download limit. Very good value for money and I would recommend them

i think one of advantages AOL have over others is their helplines are free whereas some can charge premium rates whereas others nat/local rates. Read mag cant recall what one but oddly enough i remember waitrose.com coming out on top of readers most satisfied with their IPS!

AOL Live Help is very good. Works like a chat room but you speak directly with someone form AOl and they always solve my problems. Saying that though i have only had 2 lol

A *friend* of mine has it and has to date downloaded over 100gb of porn. He now has a right arm like Popeye's and a squint, but seems very pleased with the service.
