Broadband Help!!!

I have sky tv, and wanted to get the sky broadband but won't know if i can get until i get the phoneline activated.

Now the problem is if i get it activated and it doesn't work im screwed.

Has anyone had any problems that where it doesnt work or do i have any other options available to me?

Am I right in thinking you currently don't have a phone line?
If you have a phone line they should be able to tell you by checking your number on the exchange without actually activating the broadband.

I don't understand why it wouldn't work, if the exchange isn't enabled for the Free skybroadband offering they will tell you and offer you an alternative package.

we did get sky broadband and got rid of it a few days later, dunno why, i will find out from virgos haircut when he gets home

I do have an old phone line in the house which is not activated.

They said i will have to get it activated to test it, but it i do that then i will have to pay the line rental. I only want the phone line so i can get the broadband.

The Burgess Hill exchange has been enabled for Easynet which means you should be able to receive sky broadband without any trouble.

Do you know how close you live to the BT exchange in Burgess hill?

Havent got a clue mate ive looked on the internet and cannot find where it is?

You can use www.thinkbroadband.co.uk (I think, although it may be .com or .org) to find out by using your postcode. There is a link to Broadband Checker (which takes you to the BT site).

The exchange is on Station Road, right by the station I think.

So if you are within about 2 or 3 miles form there you should be fine.

I am 2 miles from the exchange. I have had a look and it says the burgess hill site is enabled so should be ok.
