Where shall I do my journalism NCTJ next year? On the one hand Brighton is cooler and has the albion, on the other hand Id have to live at home still where as could move to notts in with my best mate or even my mrs.
Both courses are pretty much the same.

What do you all think?

Nottingham la la la, Nottingham la la la.

I like Nottingham, I'd go there if I were you. Being a stoodent down here is way too expensive i reckon. Get yourself up there.

Pros of living in Brighton:

The Albion
The Seaside
The Weather

Cons:

No Mrs
It's Expensive
The Argus is a WANK paper

Pros of Notts:
The Mrs
The Shopping (much better than Brighton)
It's close to a lot of other nice places (Derby, Manchester)
You'll still be able to see a lot of the Albion as everywhere is pretty close)
The gigs at Rock City
THe Student bars that are proper student bars and charge f*** all

Cons:

The gang violence that is overspilling in to the main town centre
The weather

To be honest it's up to you but i'd live in Notts as a student.

Richie, a word of advice. Only use the term mrs for your girlfriend if she is comfortable with it. It sounds a little too eager. Remember Easy 10's wise hunter.

Oh, and Brighton. What is the decision ?

I voted Brighton, but Nottingham is great so ignore me and stay there.

Brighton

Pros:
The Nightlife
Cricket at Hove all summer

Cons:
Expensive

Nottingham

Pros:
2 Football teams
Test Match Cricket at Trent Bridge
Easy for most away games
Cheap beer

Cons:
It's a bit cold

When uv done ur NCTJ and become a journo, the next step is to take the NCE after a few years, its got 3 sections and basically a rehash of all uv ever learnt but with pretty tough questions and examiners, pass that and u can become senior reporter and take the next steps, hasnt got the highest pass rate though!

I say Nottingham. Being a regular in the City the pros are;

Des Walker always out on the Piss.
The Lace market - Top totty
Forest - Always refreshing watching a team without the aid of a neck brace
The poorly disguised adverts for the prostitutes in the Long a Eaton topper - always makes me laugh

P.S I'll do you discount for my house on the rental market.

Where is your house? How much is it up for rent? How many bedrooms etc?

I faced the same choice 5 years ago and chose Nottingham. It's a city made for students. It has a fantastic nightlife and shopping is excellent. You can still do loads of Albion matches as these past few seasons ago we've been in the same division as Forest, Notts and even the Stags and it isn't too far from most other clubs.

On the sporting side, as well as two football clubs, you can see a Test Match each year, and if you want something a bit different, Nottingham Panthers are one of Britain's best Ice Hockey clubs. They're also keen on Boxing here and have quite a few World Champions if your into that sort of thing.

Gang violence isn't usually a problem in the city centre and is most concentrated in St Annes and the Meadows.

Lat time i was there it was getting pretty central but i only really included that one as i couldn't think of many cons for Notts, it's a blinding place.

my mate is at notts trent and his hosuemate was on crime watch in the city centre because they were jumped by about ten asian youths who were wielding scaffolding.
Notts is getting the vote at the minute...and the girlfriend is there as well...
