All the sensible types on here seemed to think that such a deal as we arranged simply gave us the first option on a most-likely pre-arranged fee, that it we wouldn't be held to any fee or any such as he is here to prove his fitness and form until the winter...
That said it was only sensible types saying these things, not football agents/managers/intheknowalbionspecialists, so all was speculation and possibly bollocks.

I seem to remember people also saying that, if he played so many games or something or other, we were obliged to pay the money. Seeing as Newcastle wanted the permanent sale and we only wanted a loan due to the medical. Who knows!

Who says Hagreaves passed a medical. There have been mixed reactions from City fans, worried about whether he'll stay fit. Do they not realise how rich their owners are? It doesn't matter whether he never plays a game for them, they can afford to buy every player (I'm not even being sarcastic, they can).
