Try out M A Potters or the indian restaurant down there and you will not be disappointed, also handy having the casino there for a late nite drink and a gamble after a nice meal. ;)

Anyone ever tried that Chinese restaurant on the boat along by Jacksons Wharf ? The Pagoda I think it is. Often wondered what its like on there, but I've not yet been brave enough to try it out.
I used to work down there until about three years ago. Utterly depressing place. I left there when the Hotel Seattle was being built. It's now a bit like a wooden version of what Churchill Square was like in the 1980s.

The Pagoda is EXCELLENT - of of the Marina's few saving graces. Pretty expensive, but pretty good. Best quality Chinese in the city. There is another very good restaurant down there, but its name escapes me at present (Cafe Paradiso?). The casino is good fun as well.

Basically the place is a dive, and most of the restaurants are shite (MA Potters - disgusting; Karma - don't get me started on that place and the overblown owner; Pizza Express  Bella Napoli   )

the outer wall (east Arm) is only just standing. I used to work down there. the arms are badly rotting by the salt water (iron inside them. there are now holes underwater big enough to drive a bus through, literally :nono: (well, if buses could go under water)

SUNNY SEAFORD
I used to drive a lorry along the outer arm to collect scallops from the fishing boats. It was a bugger to turn round at the end!

I think it's like everywhere else actually, depressing during the winter when it's cold and wet but actually quite pleasent in the summer when it's hot and sunny, the glare is reflecting off the water and the seagulls are calling. I think because most of us live here we take it a bit for granted, so don't really appreciate it.
It's actually quite convenient when having a night out with the kids, free parking, a good film in the cinema and then straight over the road to the Pizza Hut.
Yes it could do with some improvement but on the whole I think it's ok.

The Emporer of China is excellent. Reasonably priced and very good service.

Only to the Marina for the Pizza Hut and the "all you can eat contest" at the 5.95 lunch buffet they have.
The rest of the place is poor

Am I right in thinking that when it was first "developed", you had to pay to get in, unless you could prove that you paid rates in Brighton? I think that admission was about 50p. I can't remember how much it cost to get out!

Took my wife there, during the afternoon, a couple of years ago Easy. It had a novelty appeal but the food/drink wasn't anything special.

You could try it just to say you've been there.

I haven't been back but there again there are fair few restaurants to go to in Brighton.

Has anyone tried the large Indian restaurant on the upper floor of the new mall? I've heard that the food is good but pricey!?!

Was the very first place I went to in Brighton in 1993 to watch the movie Aladdin, the cinemas alright but as Volisiov said above Crawleys got a better cinema. Used to go fishing down the marina with my school mates. But is a bit depressing, then again everywheres got places like this. The Marinas OK but needs to be improved.
