Next year’s Brighton Marathon will take place on Sunday 10th April 2011.

General Entry will be launched on Monday 10th May 2010 at 10am. There are 10,000 general entries to fill and 5,000 charity places will become available from Monday 24 May.

Anyone who is thinking about running on behalf of REMF is asked to register for General Entry places and, if successful, let us know that you have a place. The marathon organisers are hoping to fill all General Entry places by 24 May - so don't delay. REGISTER SOON.

If you are successful with your General Entry application and wish to run to raise money for REMF, please let us know by e-mailing us at the following address:-

marathon@remf.org.uk

We will then get in touch with you to explain how your run can help us to support disadvantaged children around the world to play football. We will also let you know how REMF will be supporting you in preparing for the run and raising sponsorship money.

REMF Charity Entries

We will announce the arrangements for applying for one of the limited REMF Charity Entries as soon as we know what they are.

How to register for General Entry

Details of how to register for a General Entry are now posted on the Brighton Marathon website:-

The website has crashed!?
It's certainly busy - which means there will be a big rush to enter.

This is their message:-

Entries for the Bigger and Better Brighton Marathon 2011 are Now Open!

As of 10am on Monday 10th May, we are accepting entries for the April 10th 2011 second edition of the UK’s newest marathon on a first-come first-served basis.

Click on the Race Entry link to start the entry process and to guarantee yourself a precious starting spot in what will be, as this year, a truly fabulous day of huge crowds cheering you on, of glorious friendship, fun and achievement for every single participant, and of massive fundraising by thousands of charity runners representing hundreds of charities.

We’ve kept the basic entry fee the same as for the 2010 race and are again offering Brighton & Hove Postcode residents the same special offer as presented last year – saving the lucky first 1,000 entrants from the city a cool £5 on the entry fee.

Last year, entries took 12.5 weeks to sell out and this year we are expecting the sell-out period to be much, much faster. Don’t delay – enter today!

If you are a Brighton Marathon 2010 entrant who was unable to run on April 18th and deferred your place, you are guaranteed an entry in to the 2011 race, giving you a £15 discount on the 2011 race entry fee, with the following conditions:

a) You should have sent an email to info@brightonmarathon.co.uk by 5pm on Friday 16th April 2010, informing the race organisers of your wish to defer. Any attempt at deferment after this will not be considered.

b) Within two weeks of the 2011 Brighton Marathon entries opening (May 10th), you must enter via the specific “2010 Deferrals” category offered via our online entry system, filling in all details as requested.

c) One optional question to be answered when entering this category will be us asking you to confirm the date on which you sent your email informing us of your wish to defer. This cross-referencing of what we should have already received would help us.

d) Utilising this entry option saves you £15 on the entry price of the 2011 event.

e) Your Race identification number* for the 2010 Brighton Marathon will be your password for 2011 entry.

f) Anyone trying to enter this category who has not informed us, the organisers, of their wish to defer their 2010 entry and so trying to take advantage of the £15 reduction in entry fee, will have their money passed on to our official charities, minus a £5 admin fee, and their entry will not be accepted.

g) Your 2010 entry deferral, to the 2011 Brighton Marathon, will be compared to the 2010 results to confirm your non-participation in the inaugural event.

*Race Identification can be provided.
